Founded in Rwanda
Health and Rights Rwanda (HRI) is a grassroots civil society organisation founded in Rwanda with a bold mission: to ensure every adult β regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or background β lives free from stigma, discrimination, and human rights violations.
We were born from the community, shaped by lived experience, and driven by an unwavering belief that dignity and equality are not privileges β they are rights.
HRI's mission is to improve the well-being of the members of the LGBTI community in Rwanda.
The organization's vision is to be a careful and healthy community in which human rights are totally promoted with respect to LGBTI members and in which all members of the community contribute to positive change on the perception of Rwandan LGBTI people irrespective of their sexual orientation differentiation.
Our Goals
β’ To improve the skills and knowledge of the members of the LGBTI community in Rwanda through trainings and workshops
β’ To contribute to the healthcare system by providing services related to the promotion of health and care of members and beneficiaries of HRIRWANDA.
β’ To support whoever wishing to work with the members of the LGBTI community in Rwanda throughout a sustainable volunteer program
