Legal Literacy Workshops for Everyone

HRI conducts comprehensive legal literacy workshops designed to empower adults across Rwanda with knowledge of their fundamental rights and the laws that protect them.

What We Teach

• Reporting Mechanisms: How to report violations to appropriate authorities
• Legal Resources: Access to legal aid and support services
• Advocacy Skills: How to speak up and claim your rights

Our Approach

We focus on interactive, community-based learning using local languages (Kinyarwanda, French, English). Our workshops are designed to be accessible to all education levels and are FREE for participants.

Special Focus

We prioritize reaching communities facing stigma and discrimination, including those based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Every participant is guaranteed a safe, stigma-free learning environment.

Recent Impact

In 2024, we reached over 300 adults across Rwanda through our rights awareness initiatives, with 84% reporting increased confidence in claiming their rights after participation.

Confidential & Stigma-Free Support

HRI provides comprehensive support services for individuals who have experienced human rights violations, discrimination, or stigma. All services are strictly confidential and delivered without judgment.

How We Work

Our support team includes trained volunteers and professional counsellors. We use a person-centered approach, respecting your autonomy and cultural background. You decide the pace and nature of support you receive.

Your privacy is sacred to us. All information shared is protected. We will never share your details, experiences, or identity without your explicit written consent. The only exception is if there is immediate danger to life.
